The Coteries: From “Trusty Rusty” to Lagoon
Hey Lagoon Fans, quick question…what sounds better than driving cross country with your two best friends? Not much. Between the fresh air, picturesque views and the commitment to simplicity, what more could you need? This is exactly the lifestyle The Coteries adapted. The band was formed as result of an 11,000-mile road trip across America in their old VW bus, Trusty Rusty. We can thank the American backroads for the creation of their unique rock-folk sound.
Now, let us meet the band that will captivate the stage next Wednesday. The trio includes front woman Emily Parasiliti on vocals and harmonica; Matt Runciman on guitar, mandolin and vocals; and Ben Brosh on guitar, mandolin and percussion. From Trusty Rusty, the band began playing at farmers markets and local bars. Their talent soon earned them opportunities to play at major music festivals, such as Divide Music Festival and Harmonium Music Fest. At these stages, the band played alongside notable artists like The Fray and Cold War Kids. In July 2016, the group released their debut EP, titled “Reason in the Road.”
As always, concert goers will have an opportunity to snag some delicious eats at the attending food trucks. This week the food trucks, Mile High Lobster Shack, La Piadina, Austin Taco, A-Maize’N Kettle Corn and Human Bean Coffee Truck will be joining us at the Lagoon. Little Kid Rock performer Maya Bennett will have the pleasure of opening for the Coteries. There is no better way to spend your Wednesday than music, sunshine and food.
The Coteries have traveled far and wide, and now they have now found their way to the Lagoon Stage. From Trusty Rusty, to your Wednesday night, you won’t be disappointed by their talent. Grab your friends, family and picnic chairs. We will see you there, Lagoon fans!
