Raise your hand if you’re a Lagoon fan who loves good old, traditional rock ’n’ roll! This is your week! The band Strange Americans is here to bring out your “Carhartt-wearing, hard-working, industrial beer-drinking” side because that’s exactly how they describe themselves. This band hails from Denver and even won the 2013 Westword Magazine’s Best Band.
To give you a better sense of what Wednesday’s overall vibe will be, Atwood Magazine wrote, “Their ability to weave new sounds and styles into their established classic, guitar-driven, blue-collar Americana rock speaks to the band’s creative strengths: They’re not going anywhere, nor is the grit and rubble that has defined rock and blues music since their earliest days.” This five-piece band is made up of Matt Hoffman, Trent Nelson, Murry Mercier, Trevor Sinnard and Michael John McKee.
Joining the band, as always, is an assortment of food trucks. This week we have Ripe Tomatoes Wood Fired Pizza, Austin Taco, Sweaty Moose, The Betty and The Human Bean Coffee Truck.
If you’re ready for some rock ’n’ roll, grab your Carhartt hats, flannels and boots and join us down at Lagoon this Wednesday for a truly remarkable show. Embrace your patriotic side; you’re in for great time!
