Equally Challenged: A Funk Band from Fort Collins

After a week off to celebrate the 4th of July, the Lagoon concert series is back with another new band! Equally Challenged combines expert songcraft, vocal harmony, and a pocket groove for a unique funk sound.

This band is originally from our very own Fort Collins! Jesse Turner on keybass, Rhodes, vocals and guitar; Paul Maley on the organ, trumpet, mandolin and vocals; Dan Kozlowski on guitar and vocals; and Garrett Evans playing the drums. Ian Wurst has also joined the band and together they have created a remarkable rock/pop/groove sound that just might get you out of your lawn chairs and dancing around.

Your favorite food trucks, BIGS Meat Wagon, The Taco Stop, La Piadina, The Human Bean Coffee Truck and Revolution Artisan Pops will be back this evening to help you fuel up for the night. (You might need it with all that dancing you’re about to do!)

Of course we love Lagoon nights, and we know this week’s performance will be nothing short of spectacular. Pack those picnic blankets and lawn chairs back up and head down to Lagoon … we can’t wait to see you there!

The Lagoon Summer Concert Series is produced by Mantooth Marketing with thanks to the generous support of Title Sponsors Colorado State University, Kaiser Permanente and Dellenbach Subaru. Event Sponsors include Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, Big O Tires, City of Fort Collins, Cosmo’s Pizza Rockfan Entertainment, 99.9 The Point, TRI 102.5, the Fort Collins Coloradoan and Rocky Mountain Collegian.
