Get Ready to Dance with The Jakarta Band

Who’s ready to dance? This week at Lagoon we have nine-member group The Jakarta Band! The Denver-based band categorizes their sound as old school funk and R&B that creates a groove to get people on the dance floor.

With 35 years of experience, leader Isaac Points has seen his share of Denver’s musical nightlife. He began playing the trumpet at the age of nine, but by the time he was 17, he was playing bass and working in Denver’s local clubs. He tried different music styles ranging from jazz to country and has finally landed with The Jakarta Band. The band members will be jamming on the bass, sax, trumpet, keyboard, trombone and more, so be sure to bring dancing shoes!

We know you love the food at Lagoon just as much as the music, so this week we have Ripe Tomatoes Wood Fired Pizza, Austin Taco, Sweaty Moose, The Human Bean and Ba-Nom-A-Nom. So if The Jakarta Band has you working up an appetite on the dance floor, we’ve got plenty of options for refueling!

Don’t miss this week’s concert, Lagoon fans! We know that it’s going to be a great and lively night. We can’t wait to see you there!
