The Lagoon Summer Concert Series is back in full swing! After two years of plans changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that this summer, we’ll be back under the beautiful trees of the CSU Lagoon.
This always-popular (and free!) Fort Collins summer tradition has been produced for 25 years by Mantooth Company, and this year is no exception! We are proud to be providing the community with weekly opportunities to enjoy amazing bands, delicious food, and fun with friends and family.
Join us every Wednesday evening from June 15 – July 27 to make summer memories filled with food, community, and music. Be sure to bring your picnic blanket, favorite lawn chairs, your dogs, and your children – the Lagoon Summer Concert Series is guaranteed to be fun for the whole family.
Food trucks will be onsite at 6 p.m. – be sure to come and enjoy our fantastic lineup of fresh food from local vendors! Then, settle in and enjoy the show – each concert will run from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on the west lawn of Colorado State University’s Lory Student Center.
This year’s band lineup includes just a bit of everything – from oldies covers to country, from lo-fi to bluegrass, from contemporary pop to rock-and-roll. Pick a genre, any genre, and you’ll be nearly guaranteed to hear it this summer under the trees of the Lagoon
The 2022 band lineup includes:
June 15 – Funky Business: Funky Business is an energetic band based in Northern Colorado. From Aretha Franklin to Bruno Mars, their variety of classic funk, spirited soul, and contemporary pop covers will have you dancing, tapping, and singing along. They have played numerous festivals, weddings, and private parties, providing the fuel to energize crowds. We’re excited to have Funky Business kicking off this season, and we’ve got a lot to celebrate being back under the trees at the Lagoon this summer! Come prepared to sing along or let your feet take over and dance.
June 22 – Nothing But Nineties: Nothing But Nineties is Colorado’s premier 90s cover band, sliming their fans with 90s nostalgia through throwback outfits and witty antics. Playing 90s music hits from grunge rock to boy bands – including your favorite 90s TV and movie themes – Nothing But 90s is guaranteed to be the (Rocko’s Modern) life of any party and will help us celebrate being back at the Lagoon. Embrace the nostalgia and wear your favorite 90s outfit.
June 29 – Ryan Chrys & The Rough Cuts: Ryan Chrys & The Rough Cuts are a 4-piece touring band that shares male and female leads in a mix of old school country and rock n’ roll. Call it western outlaw, modern outlaw country, or just plain outlaw, Ryan Chrys & The Rough Cuts bring forth new energy to music fans who love the heroes and outlaws of old. Influenced by the songs and personalities of legends like Waylon and Willie, they drive their sound with blazing guitars and a rock n’ roll attitude. The band pays respect to classic styles, but anyone can tell from their overdriven sound that they’re far from traditionalists. Recommended for lovers of both classic country and 70s rock n’ roll. The band also earned 2021 Female Vocalist of the year and 2019 Band of the year from the Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame.
July 6 – Christine Alice: Christine is our up-and-coming performer of the season. A Fort Collins native, her music has been critically acclaimed by both local musicians and professionals throughout the country. She has killer vocals that will convince you she’s an angel, but on the flip of a note, she can bring out the rich depths from below. The breadth of her music crosses all types of genres from pop, country, alternative, to lo-fi and more.
July 13 – Clark Street Station: When you come to hear Clark Street Station, be ready to have some fun, do some dancing, and sing along to songs you know by heart. The six-piece, classic rock band formed eight years ago, and plays mostly oldies from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. This local group plays an eclectic mix of songs you’ve loved for decades, but also loves to play its original songs.
July 20 – Rusty 44: Rusty 44 is a five-piece rustic roots band hailing from Colorado’s Front Range. Their unique style of acoustic music draws from all corners of the American landscape and sound. Rusty 44 is no stranger to the Northern Colorado outdoor concert scene and we are so excited to share their music with our Lagooners this year. Featuring some fiery flat-picking, fiddle playing, mandolin strumming and a shared passion for Bluegrass, Rusty 44 creates a dance-friendly vibe for all audiences to enjoy.
July 27 – Wendy Woo: A favorite of the Lagoon, Wendy Woo returns to close out the 2022 season. Her energetic personality, musical skills, and spirited songwriting have made her a Colorado favorite. WWB is a poly-ethnic, power pop, song-rock, six-piece band with sweet vocal harmonies and shuddering grooves. Wendy has also been named Westword Magazine’s Music Awards “Singer/Songwriter of the year” five separate times.
