Wrapping up the fabulous 2018 Lagoon Concert Series next week is an old favorite: The Wendy Woo Band! The band is flexible with the number of members that play each show, but you will, without fail, be blown away by their pop/rock songs each time.
Wendy Woo had been singing and playing the guitar since she was a child. She attended both the University of New Mexico and the University of Colorado where she studied musical theory, composition and genres. She landed her first musical job at Boulder’s Box Theatre, where she learned many skills and had opportunities to open for world famous acts, including Counting Crows and Michael Franti.
Since then, she has written and recorded more than 200 original songs and played in venues, such as Red Rocks and Bluebird Café. Fort Collins is lucky to have this incredible band, whose lead vocalist was named Westword Magazine’s “Singer/Songwriter of the Year” five separate times.
In between songs, you can grab some food from the trucks that never miss a Lagoon night. This week we have Bedrock BBQ, The Taco Stop, The Goodness Truck, The Betty and The Human Bean Coffee Truck.
We can’t wait to end the summer with Wendy Woo and with all of you. We’ll see you dancing on the lawn this Wednesday at Lagoon’s final concert of the year!
